Dina Meyer was born and raised in Forest Hills, Queens, New York, but moved to Dix Hills, Long Island shortly before the end of her final year in junior high school. Her two brothers are Gregory, her elder brother, and Evan. Between the ages of nine to 16, her first exposure to the world of modeling was when she started modeling. Ron Stetson was her teacher at The Neighborhood Playhouse where she began studying Sanford Meisner's acting techniques for approximately three years. Others who have received this education include Sandra Bullock, Michael Douglas, Jeff Goldblum, Leslie Nielsen, Diane Keaton, among other people. The actress was a part of Beverly Hills 90210, and was forced to relocate to Los Angeles to take the role. She was cast as the leading lady in Johnny Mnemonic in which she did almost every stunt herself, and established her skills as an actor.
